- Research in the areas of media education and didactic design of electronic learning environments
- Development of activating blended learning scenarios for courses with high numbers of participants
- Evaluation of blended learning scenarios
- Content analysis of asynchronous online discussions
- Alternative and especially electronic course assessments
- Processing information retrieved from the Internet – see project «Schulen am Netz – und jetzt?» (’Schools in the world wide web – now what?’) (with Prof Paul Michel)
